Why Meg started Citruit.
I'm Meg, and I learned to code as a kid so I could build a forum for my favorite book series. In college I studied Communication Design at Kutztown University, then left to work full-time. At the time, it felt like closing a door, but it turns out it was actually just the scenic route. I landed in Quality Control, where I learned to ask why before how, then ended up running my employer's website almost by accident. Suddenly I remembered exactly what I'd wanted to do all along, so I went back and finished the degree.
Here's what I kept seeing: small businesses need every cent to count, and a traditional agency's tens-of-thousands-of-dollars price tag just isn't in the budget. Page builders aren't much kinder. They hand you a cookie-cutter site with limited functionality that you can't update without it breaking. Neither option is a great deal.
I wanted to provide a way for Lehigh Valley businesses to get a website without a dozen phone calls and hours of weekly upkeep. So Citruit works differently: a low monthly rate instead of a huge upfront bill, and we take the rest off your hands, because we understand that sometimes the scenic route is better.
